This chamber orchestra version of Sinfonia Antartica was commissioned by the Festival of the Mind/University of Sheffield Concert Series in 2018 for a project called Sounds of the Antarctic. The reduction dramatically reduces the size of the ensemble required whilst still retaining Vaughan Williams' expansive textures.
• Strings: this arrangement should be performed with a chamber orchestra-sized section (suggested 6 5 4 3 2) George Morton/Rep Orchestra
