George Morton is a conductor and arranger based in Sheffield, UK,
George is the Musical Director of the Sheffield Philharmonic Orchestra, Principal Conductor of the Picture House Orchestra, and is one of Europe’s leading conductors of film with orchestra. Equally at home on the concert platform, George has recently conducted concerts with the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, BBC Concert Orchestra, and Royal Northern Sinfonia. In the 2026/27 season, George will make his debut with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra, and BBC Philharmonic Orchestra. He'll return to conduct the BBC Concert Orchestra, Ulster Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Concert Orchestra, Orchestra of Opera North, Welsh National Opera, Ensemble 360, and Babylon Orchester Berlin, as well as recording with the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. Continuing his strong relationships in Sweden, he returns to conduct Västerås Sinfonietta and Uppsala Chamber Orchestra.
