This new arrangement, with enthusiastic approval from the Ernest Bloch Society, will be premiered in multiple locations in the UK by Sheku Kanneh–Mason in concerts alongside Fantasia Orchestra and London Mozart Players. The original masterpiece is score for very large orchestra, and this new arrangement will go some way to improve the balance between the soloist and ensemble, as well as helping to promote this fantastic piece in smaller venues and with a wider audience. George previously worked with Sheku Kanneh–Mason in 2020 when he provided his chamber version of the Dvorak Cello Concerto for performances across the south of England and, later, produced a bespoke chamber orchestra version for concerts with the RLPO and BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra. George last worked with the London Mozart Players in 2021, where he conducted the world premiere performance of his Coleridge–Taylor African Dances with the orchestra and violinist Ruth Rogers in Portsmouth. The first performances of this arrangement are scheduled to take place in January and February 2023, with full details being announced in the coming months. https://www.londonmozartplayers.com/whatson-event/building-blochs-and-birkenstocks/?venue=20893
