"First and foremost, CONGRATULATIONS on a remarkable arrangement! Absolutely brilliant and very skilful indeed! [...] We performed it at Trinity Uniting Church (Perth), so the chamber arrangement suited the venue size (and acoustical properties) perfectly. [...] The overall effect was simply terrific."

"I had the honour of performing George Morton's wonderful arrangements of The Planets and Enigma at Cadogan Hall with the Mozart Symphony Orchestra. The arrangements worked perfectly and added all sorts of unexpected qualities such as clarity of timbre and ensemble to these two great works. Although we only used 15 players at no time were we left wanting for more. I urge anyone thinking about performing these arrangements to do so as they've been a highlight of my year!"

"[In] June this year I was delighted and intrigued to be involved in a performance of an arrangement of Elgar's Enigma Variations conducted by the arranger, George Morton. I was performing the Albinoni D Minor Oboe concerto [op.9 no.2] in the same concert, I was therefore aware of George's sensitive musicianship.
The arrangement is a delight to play. One of the great joys [of this arrangement] is when you find yourself evolved with parts of the orchestration which are not in the original (a wonderful surprise and those moments are beautifully crafted by George)."

"George Morton's rescoring and arrangement of Elgar's Enigma, and the Pomp & Circumstance No4 (which we commissioned) are little short of astonishing. They maintain plenty of that typically Elgarian colour via subtle spacings and new voicings, but at the same time enable a highly flexible format which encourages all manner of different performance options, from 5 strings up to mid-size chamber orchestra."

"George Morton’s enjoyable and idiomatic arrangement will enable Elgar’s great Enigma to puzzle those parts it could not reach before!"

"We had the privilege of performing George's arrangement of Tchaikovsky 5 earlier this year, it was great fun and the arrangement worked SO well for the chamber instrumentation. We had some phenomenal string players and just did not miss the sections our single strings were that good. It was exhilarating and so satisfying musically - not least as George was conducting us, but the arrangement itself was a great success and a big hit with our audience in the rather small venue."

"Really clever arrangements - George manages to get a real symphonic sound from a tiny group of players, with an imaginative emphasis on parts that may usually go unnoticed in the full score."

"We made an excursion to London to hear the Planets and Enigma arrangements in Feb (2017) and it was a superb concert, excellent arrangements, played in the Cadogan Hall, Kensington.
Surprising to hear more 'inside tunes' which seem to be lost (or perhaps buried) in the full symphony orchestra rendition, George's reworking enhances parts you've probably not realised were there!
Highly recommend you go to a live performance if you can get to one (or more!)"
