Clara Schumann's Quatre Pièces Caractéristiques Op. 5 is originally for piano solo and was written in 1836.
Version 1 This orchestration was commissioned and premiered by Sheffield Philharmonic Orchestra in 2019 and subsequently led to George Morton winning the Best Arranger accolade at the Making Music Awards 2020. It's written for full symphony orchestra, with an optional triangle part. Version 2 This is a reduction of the full orchestration for ensemble or chamber orchestra, ideal for socially distanced rehearsals and concerts. |
