Work Introduction

This chamber edition of Strauss' Rosenkavalier Suite is dedicated to John Storgärds and the Lapland Chamber Orchestra, who gave the premiere perfromance on 31 March 2021. 

This arrangement is for individual woodwinds, a small brass section, two percussionists, harp, celeste and a small string section.  This orchestration retains the timbre of the original suite, with no supplementary piano or harmony instrument.  

• Strings: this arrangement can be performed with a quintet up to a full chamber orchestra section.

• Percussion: sd, bd, tamb, tri, susp cym, cym, timp, rt, glock
