Written for individual woodwinds, a small brass section, timpanist, percussionist and a small string section, this new reduction of enables chamber ensembles to explore Tchaikovsky's masterpiece.
• Strings: this arrangement can be performed with a quintet up to a full chamber orchestra section. Suggested string size is approx. 4 4 3 2 1
• Percussion: this arrangement requires a cymbal/triangle player for the final movement only. There is an optional 2nd percussion part for bass drum (or bass drum with cymbal attachment). It can also be played without percussion (but with timpani)
